Investigation ends in arrest; man faces 4 felony charges



The arrest of a 34-year-old Jackson County man on four felony counts of dealing in methamphetamine is the result of a three-month investigation, police report.

Charles A. Root of Vallonia was booked into the Jackson County Jail at 12:23 p.m. Monday and was being held there without bond pending his initial hearing in Jackson Circuit Court. He faces three Class A felony counts of dealing in methamphetamine and a fourth Class B felony count of dealing in methamphetamine.

A Class A felony is punishable by 20 to 50 years in prison, while a Class B felony conviction carries a six- to 20-year prison term.
