Construction of a $15 million manufacturing and assembly plant is planned in Columbus for a supply chain management company.

The investment is expected to create at least 50 jobs, according to a news release by Browning, the Indianapolis-based real estate and development company that is building the facility for The Phoenix Group.

The Phoenix Group, based in Indianapolis, provides assembly procurement, project management, engineering, warehousing and logistics. Customers include Aisin USA of Seymour, NTN Driveshaft, Allison Transmission, Kenwood USA and Alpine Electronics of America.

Jason Hester, executive director of the Columbus Economic Development Board, said the manufacturing and logistics jobs would pay an average of $30,000.
