Stepping away from football his junior year is something that Keanon Persinger regrets.

But he’s glad he made the decision to return for his senior year, and he’s been a big contributor as Brownstown Central’s starting cornerback.

“I missed it a lot, for sure,” he said. “I was really glad to come back and just have a lot of fun with it.”

From his sixth-grade year to his sophomore year, Persinger played quarterback and some defense. He said he liked being the “head of the offense,” but once he got into high school, he was mainly a backup.
