Jackson County man caught in grain bin rescued

A 77-year-old Jackson County man was hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after he became trapped in a grain bin.

Russell “Junior” Bundy Jr. of rural Brownstown was conscious and alert after the incident, reported just before noon at Bundy Brothers & Sons Inc., 103 N. David St., Medora, Police Chief Steve Ingle said.

Rescue of Bundy occurred thanks to the work of many people, Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Officer Rob Henley said, including employees of the feed mill, Carr Township firefighters, county police officers and local residents who responded to the scene.

“It was nothing short of an heroic effort,” Henley said.
