Jail worker accused of misconduct



A Jennings County Jail employee has lost her job and was arrested Monday after an investigation stemming from reports she was having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.

Christy A. Ramirez, 30, of Commiskey, faces charges of sexual misconduct and trafficking with an inmate, both categorized as Level 5 offenses, formerly Class C felonies.

Each of those charges are punishable by one to six years in prison with a state recommended minimum sentence of three years upon conviction.
