Jennings County meth dealer sentenced to 6 years in prison

A Jennings County man received a 12-year sentence after pleading guilty to dealing in methamphetamine.

Jackson Circuit Judge Richard W. Poynter sentenced Travis A. Barnes, 46, of North Vernon, to spend the first six years of that term in prison and two more years on home detention supervised by officers with the Jackson Jennings Community Corrections program.

Poynter suspended the remaining four years of the sentence and ordered Barnes to spend that time on supervised probation.
