Jennings County Archery competed on Oct. 6 in the National Archery in the Schools Program World Tournament at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
One student from Jennings County High School participated. Freshman Ariel Galliher placed sixth with a score of 281 in the high school female division.
Three students from Jennings County Middle School participated. Eighth-grader Adrianne Garris had a score of 273; seventh-grader Christopher Walters had a score of 248; and seventh-grader Natalie Owens placed first in her division and second overall in the female shooters division with a score of 294.
Hayden Elementary School placed second with a score of 3,245, and it won the Spirit Award for the fourth year in a row. Fifth-grader Caroline McDonald placed fourth with a score of 277.
The top five from each division were awarded with a plaque and a medal. Hayden Elementary was awarded with an eagle trophy and a team trophy as well as individual medals for its second-place team finish.
