VERNON — Jennings County Sheriff’s Department arrested a North Vernon man early Friday after an investigation of neglect and abuse of a 2-year-old child.

Alan L. “Trey” Goins, 25, of North Vernon was arrested by Deputy Sgt. Dave Turner and Deputy Jason Bliton at 5:25 a.m. Friday after officers responded to a report from the emergency room at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital that the 2-year-old had numerous injuries, including a head injury from an incident, police said.
