Police hope for break in slaying

Police hope a recent conviction in the murder of a state prison inmate 31 years ago leads someone to offer information about an unrelated death in Jennings County.

Paul Stucker, 53, of Scott County, was sentenced Feb. 27 in LaPorte County Superior Court II to 45 years in prison for the murder of Johnny Hodge while they were both serving time at the Indiana State Prison in Michigan City.

Stucker was convicted of murder Feb. 13 following a trial for the 1983 death of Hodge.
