Officials: Middle-schooler threatened to plant explosives in homes, run over classmates

A Jennings County Middle School student is accused of threatening to plant explosive devices at the homes of two other students and run over them in a vehicle, police said.

However, investigators said none of the threats involved violent acts being carried out at the middle school, which is next to Jennings County High School on West Walnut Street.

The threats were made face-to-face Tuesday at the middle school, rather than through written correspondence, said Jennings Schools Superintendent Terry Sargent.
