Kentucky-trained vet joins Seymour practice

Veterinarian Hilary Carlisle recently joined the staff of Jackson County Animal Clinic, 5700 U.S. 31 North, Seymour.

Carlisle, who grew up in Carrollton, Ky., was a veterinary assistant at Carroll County Animal Clinic in Carrollton, Ky., from January 2003 to August 2010 and a veterinarian assistant at Woodford Veterinary Club from August 2005 to August 2007.

She will be working with Dr. Bonny Felton at Jackson County Animal Clinic, which is owned by Dr. Klent Brown.

Carlisle received a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Kentucky’s College of Agriculture in 2007 and received a doctorate in veterinary medicine from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. She completed an externship at Cross Timbers Veterinary Hospital in Bowie, Texas, in January and a second externship at Rock ‘N Country Veterinary Services in College Grove, Tenn., in February.

She also completed a preceptorship from March to May at Carroll County Animal Clinic at Carrollton, Ky.

Jackson County Animal Clinic recently began offering extended office hours. The new hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
