Fellow disciples, let’s talk about our laboring for Jesus and the result of those labors — an eternal rest with him and our father in heaven.
As members of the body of Christ and as citizens of the kingdom of heaven, we are called upon to work. Each of us might have different roles to fulfill, but we all must work.
Right now, our laboring seems to bear less and less fruit because we are living in a world that increasingly denies the one for whom we labor. And there are times when the weight of our own cross seems overwhelming. Additionally, the yoke of Jesus, which we willingly wear, often chafes against our neck because we allow our human nature to rebel against his divine will.
