Ladies Aid 3, guests travel to Clarksville for theater

Members and guests of Ladies Aid 3 of Immanuel Lutheran Church recently traveled to Clarksville for a luncheon and performance of “Church Basement Ladies – Part II” at Derby Dinner Theater.

The group also recently held its September meeting in the church Fellowship Hall, with Theresa Vondielingen serving snacks and drinks.

Vicar Joseph Barlau led the group in singing “Lord of All Hopefulness,” the reading of Psalm 133 and devotions.

Vondielingen presided over the business meeting, which was attended by 15 members.

A note was read thanking the members for donating and serving homemade cookies at the recent Immanuel Lutheran School golf outing.

Donna Otte and Bonnie Raabe reported they visited five shut-ins at Shields House Assisted Living.

Ann Mahan distributed packets of note cards that the organization had made. The note cards depict the recently donated stained-glass window in the church narthex featuring The Welcoming Christ.

Plans continue for the group serving as hosts of 30th annual Arts and Crafts Show and Luncheon on Nov. 3 in both gymnasiums of Immanuel Lutheran School. Members signed up for food donations for the luncheon and for handmade items that the organization will sell at its booth. A mailing will go out soon to prospective vendors on file. Other interested vendors of handmade items may call Ann Mahan at (812) 523-3109 for information.

Marlis Kilgas reported on some possible changes to the constitution, which will be presented in its entirety at the October meeting.

Vondielingen asked for volunteers to serve refreshments at Friendship Bible Class, which meets at Zion Lutheran Church.

Donna Otte and Pat Weasner will be hostesses for the next regular meeting at 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the church Fellowship Hall. The meeting was closed with praying The Lord’s Prayer.
