Richard L. “Rick” Borges II, MAI, SRA, of Greenwood began a one-year term as president of the Appraisal Institute on New Year’s Day.
The institute is the nation’s largest professional association of real estate appraisers with nearly 23,000 members in nearly 60 countries, according to a news release.
“This is the beginning of an exciting journey, and I’m simply overjoyed to be president of the Appraisal Institute as the Candidate for Designation program takes its first steps,” Borges said. “The goal now is to ensure that the program builds on its wide and deep foundation. It’s time to move our Candidates for Designation to the upper echelons of appraisers.”
