Clare Lenart helped lift the Seymour girls soccer team to a 4-2 Hoosier Hills Conference win on Thursday at Bedford North Lawrence.

Lenart scored three of the Owls' goals — one on an assist from Lindsay Swindell — and Kelsey Nolting scored the team's other goal on a penalty kick.

Coach Greg Musser put Lenart up top in the absence of leading scorer Maile Grout, who is out with an injury.

"She met the challenge head-on," Musser said of Lenart. "What was nice to see was she did it calmly. Everything was nice and to the corners."

The Owls outshot the Stars 19-5, and Seymour goalie Zoe Cummings made three saves.

Seymour improved to 2-2 in the HHC and 5-5 overall and today will play at Salem.
