To the editor:
Kudos to the mailman for delivery of mail on Dec. 26 in the Redwood Drive and Murray Hill areas.
The mail was delivered close to the usual time, and as our streets had not been plowed at the time of mail delivery, he would stop his vehicle a few feet away from the mailbox, get out of the vehicle, get mail for boxes and then step to the mailbox to place in the appropriate mailbox.
When taking off for the next mailbox, he would be able to go a few feet, but then the vehicle would start sliding and, after a few back- and-forth motions, would be able to get to next box and a repeat of what had happened at the prior box. He was ensuring as the adage states, the “mail must go through.”
