To the Editor:

My son, John Shoultz III, shot my husband, John Shoultz Jr., and my husband died. It was self-defense. My mother-in-law knows it was self-defense.

My husband was on four hard narcotics for many years, all prescribed by one doctor. He was very mean and moody. The years of these medications had really took a toll on him.

The night this happened to my family, my son’s wife-to-be put the dog on my bed with a smile. It was not murder, but if it was, then she was happy about what was going to happen.

The law did not do gunshot residue tests on any of us. My son was held in a holding cell all by himself for 2½ years. He was pale and weak. No one else has been treated so badly. He was maced under the door. The law watched my house several times. It was afraid of my husband.
