Letter: Support local businesses that invest in community

Nancy E. Brock

Seymour, Ind.

To the editor:

National Small Business Week is June 17 through June 21. During this time, we celebrate small businesses across the state that support our local community with taxes and local jobs.

Indiana’s package liquor stores, by law, must be Hoosier-owned business. We employ local workers. In many cases, Indiana’s package liquor stores are owned by second- and third-generation family business men and women. They serve in their community as nonprofit volunteers, raise money for charities, donate time to worthy causes and serve on the boards of drug-free organizations. They are Hoosiers invested in their local communities.
