Letter: V-J Day parade sends questionable message

Liz McPherson

To the editor:

I think it’s ironic that Seymour is trying to woo Japanese investors to Seymour and Jackson County, but we continue to celebrate V-J Day. We are, I believe, the only town in the United States that continues to celebrate this.

My father was in Pearl Harbor the day the Japanese bombed it, and he almost died. A lot of my friends who I grew up with are of Japanese heritage, and family members were interned in camps during World War II.
