I want to comment in reference to Brownstown Central Community School Corp. proposed spending regarding building projects at the schools.

Taxpayers must remember that we had a Four-Star school at Freetown they shut down. They are now asking millions for elementary classrooms. I guess the predictions we made during the public hearings at Freetown were correct after all.

It was good to see that a couple of school board members did not just rubber stamp the $24,800,000 request. That is a lot of zeros when you write it out and don’t abbreviate.

Some of the longtime school board members need to go, so we can have the checks and balances needed for good decision-making.

Folks, I love the Brownstown schools, but I do not like the way the administration does business and will continue to state my opinions against centralizing and spending when necessary.

Pershing Township Board chairman
