To the editor:
Where has columnist Andrea Neal been since Tony Bennett took office as state superintendent of public instruction?
Has she talked with a teacher? Is she aware of what is going on in the classrooms because of Bennett’s “reform” of education?
Does she know that many dedicated and experienced professional teachers are fed up with not being allowed to educate their students but instead must follow state mandates that “do not get the job done in the classroom.”
I am truly surprised that The Tribune chose to run these comments by someone who doesn’t have a clue about the “real education world.”
As a retired elementary school teacher with 36 years of teaching experience, I applaud those in education with getting the job done by voting Glenda Ritz to replace Bennett as the superintendent of public instruction.
