The Jackson County Public Library Board of Trustees adopted the 2014 budget at its regular meeting on Monday.
The approved operating fund budget is $2,131,837, with a preliminary tax rate of 9.9 cents per $100 assessed valuation. The tax rate is expected to drop once new assessed values are completed for the district, Mary Reed of the library staff said.
The budget is up $19,728 from the current budget of $2,112,109. The current tax rate is 7.95 cents per $100 assessed value.
