Lifeguarding class set at Seymour pool

Any students age 15 or older interested in being a lifeguard this summer at the Shields Park Pool in Seymour should plan to attend a lifeguarding certification class next month.

The class will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 5 and 6 at the Seymour High School pool. The class is limited to 16 students.

Cost is $200, and participants should bring a sack lunch, the Red Cross lifeguard course book, a swimsuit and a towel.

Checks can be made payable to Jim Lemke, who will be teaching the course.

All those planning to take the course should read the lifeguarding manual before the first session.

Lifeguarding and CPR certification cards will be given to those who successfully complete the course. The course is required to be a lifeguard.

Applications to work at the pool are due to Dave Boggs at the high school by April 15.

For information or to sign up, call Boggs at 812-522-4384, ext. 1224.
