Local owners: Sunday alcohol sales not needed

Most days of the week customers of Northside Liquors in Seymour find co-owner Nancy Brock in her Ewing Street store, but on Wednesday Brock was at the Indiana Statehouse taking care of another part of her business.

Bills seeking to end Indiana’s ban on Sunday alcohol sales at most retail businesses have been filed in recent years.

This session is no different, but Wednesday’s hearing before the House committee on public policy was the first time lawmakers have formally heard any of the proposals.
