Two golfers from Jackson County finished near the top of the Indiana Golf Association Public Links Championship, which concluded its two-day run on Saturday at Shadowood Golf Course in Seymour.
William Whitlow of Seymour placed 11th out of 55 golfers with a two-day total of 2-over-par 146 (75-71), while Travis Thompson of Seymour was one of six golfers tying for 13th with a 148 (72-76).
Brodie Williams of Lapel was the winner, finishing with an 8-under 136 (66-70). That was just one stroke ahead of Skip Runnels of Richmond and Jake Groninger of Pendleton.
With the win, Williams earned $400 and 20 points.
Other Jackson County residents’ finishes were Jake Olson of Brownstown tying for 36th with a 155 (80-75) and Jonathon Olson of Brownstown placing 52nd with a 165 (78-87).
