A Brownstown Elementary School fifth-grade teacher was named 2013 Educator of the Year during Drug Abuse Resistance Education Indiana’s annual conference in Cincinnati.

Theresa Rouse of Freetown was recognized at the state’s award reception luncheon during the D.A.R.E. International conference at the Millennium Hotel.

Rouse was nominated by Brownstown D.A.R.E. Officer Tom Wright, who cited her 30 years of fifth-grade teaching, starting at Vallonia, then Freetown and currently at Brownstown.
