Every week, customers who drop in at the Jackson County Clothing Center find 74-year-old Joan Roth sorting T-shirts or rearranging shelves of donated home appliances and overseeing 50 volunteers.

As a volunteer herself at the center for 29 years and its vice president for more than 20, Roth gives countless hours to the center putting others before herself.

For that dedication to serving others, Roth was chosen as grand marshal of the Seymour Oktoberfest Parade on Saturday.
