“Overwhelmed” is the word Brandon Harpe used to describe receiving 50 applications for the Seymour High School head football coach position.

“I really didn’t know what to expect,” the SHS athletics director said. “Some of those 50 came in after the deadline, but we looked at every one that came in. Our goal has been to find the best football coach, best teacher, best leader of young men that we could find out there.”

After narrowing the search, Harpe was left with what he called some impressive applicants.
