Low turnout for hearing on looming area code changes



Three people turned out for Wednesday night’s public hearing on potential changes in the 812 area code at Jennings County Middle School in North Vernon.

The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor is staging the hearings to give the public an opportunity to express their opinions on the proposed changes and offer suggestions.

A final decision is about a year away.
