Man admits to fatal shooting

A Seymour man admitted Wednesday in Jackson Circuit Court that he shot and killed another man in the “heat of the moment” in December 2010.

Eric D. Owens, 33, made the admission during a change-of-plea hearing in front of Senior Judge Bill Vance.

If Vance decides to accept the guilty plea on the Class B felony charge of voluntary manslaughter, Owens faces a 20-year prison term for the shotgun slaying of 36-year-old Michael Glover.
