Man arrested in connection with fatal wreck

The driver of a vehicle suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run wreck that left a Medora teenager dead and a second one injured Friday in Lawrence County surrendered to police on Tuesday evening.

Cody Michael Silvers, 20, of Norman was booked into the Lawrence County Jail at 5:55 p.m. on two counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, bodily injury or entrapment in the incident that led to the death of Kassi Richel Lewis-Yoskovich, 16, of Medora.

Silver was released from jail at 9:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to a jailer. He was freed on a $2,005 cash bond.

The wreck, reported at 6:35 p.m. Friday on George Johnson Road in Lawrence County near the Jackson County line, also left Noah Brown, 15, of Medora hospitalized at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He was expected to be released from the hospital today.
