Seymour police already investigating a report of a shooting Saturday made an arrest in a separate incident in which a man reportedly pointed a gun at a woman on Monday.
Areli Rivera, 30, of 227½ S. Broadway St. in Seymour faces preliminary charges of intimidation and pointing a firearm after Monday's incident, reported at 1:55 p.m. in the 600 block of West Oak Street.
Police Chief Bill Abbott said Rivera was arrested after a woman accused him of pointing a weapon at her as she approached his vehicle. Her 18-year-old daughter was inside the car.
"The male pointed the gun at the women and the threat was that she was going to get shot if she didn't leave, so she left," Abbott said.
