A 22-year-old Marion County man was arrested on a firearms charge following a traffic stop on Interstate 65 near Seymour.

Adrian K. Green, 22, of Indianapolis was booked into Jackson County Jail in Brownstown, where he was held on $50,005 bond, at 6:41 p.m. Tuesday.

He was arrested on charges of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, a Class B felony; possession of marijuana; possession of paraphernalia; and false reporting or informing.

A passenger in Green’s vehicle, 24-year-old Daniel M. Wells of Indianapolis, also was arrested on a charge of false informing, a Class B misdemeanor. Wells was being held on a $355 bond on Wednesday afternoon.

Green’s arrest occurred during a traffic stop made by Trooper Randel Miller around 3:42 p.m. Tuesday three miles north of Seymour, according to a news release.

Miller stopped Green for following another vehicle too closely, the report said.

During the stop, Miller found a loaded handgun, a substance he thought was marijuana and drug paraphernalia, he said.

Trooper Stephen Wheeles and his police dog, Kane, assisted with the investigation.

After his arrest, police discovered Green had a Marion County warrant for two counts of criminal confinement. He also has been convicted of carjacking and robbery.
