A Jennings County man was injured in a one-vehicle wreck Tuesday.

Martin Johnson, 49, of North Vernon told police that he overcorrected when the right tire of his 2000 Monte Carlo left the road while driving east on U.S. 50 around 5:45 p.m.

The car left the north side of the road, crossing a ditch and striking several trees, the Jennings County Sheriff's Department reported.

Johnson was pinned in the vehicle for two hours and 40 minutes, police said. The road was closed during that time.

After he was freed, Johnson was taken to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital in North Vernon for what police described as a routine check.

The wreck occurred near Biehle Electric Inc. in the 9600 block of U.S. 50 West.

Indiana State Police troopers and Seymour Fire Department aided police at the scene. Also responding were Rescue 20 and Spencer Township volunteer firefighters.
