Jackson County Plan Commission will consider a request for a special exception from a man wanting to build a four-acre pond on his property in the Norman area during a meeting at 7:30 p.m. tonight at the county plan commission office, 202 E. Walnut St., Brownstown.
Dan Towriss of Carmel has hired Rust Construction of rural Seymour to build the pond on a 54.19-acre site at 3029 N. 1100W, Norman. The land presently is used for farming and pasture and zoned agricultural.
The plan commission can forward the request to the county Board of Zoning Appeals with a favorable recommendation, an unfavorable recommendation or without a recommendation. The appeals board has final approval.
Plan commission meetings are open to the public and press.
