A central Indiana man just convicted of child molesting ignored a judge’s order not to hug his family and scuffled with deputies in a courtroom before being subdued with a stun gun.
Twenty-four-year-old Mark Sloan of Edinburgh now faces a preliminary charge of battery following the incident Tuesday inside a Johnson County courtroom in Franklin.
Johnson County Sheriff Doug Cox said a judge remanded Sloan into custody until sentencing and denied Sloan’s request to hug his family. Sloan then scuffled with a deputy who attempted to handcuff him until the deputy and a second officer used their stun guns.
