Police seek scam suspect

During the past couple of weeks, the North Vernon Police Department has received complaints involving a man going door-to-door reportedly looking for work then getting area residents to give him money.

The man offers to perform various home services and odd jobs, police said.

Most of the complaints have been reported by elderly women, Officer Justin Black said Monday. Black is the department’s public information officer.
