Mayor proposes full-time city engineer due to upcoming projects

Mayor Craig Luedeman wants to hire a full-time city engineer by April 1 to handle what he expects to be a busy year for development in Seymour.

Since 2010, the city has worked on contract with local engineer Jim Wayman of Wayman and Associates, who has provided those services as needed.

Luedeman declined Monday to name the person he plans to hire but said his experience includes working with contractors and managing road projects for the state through the Indiana Department of Transportation.
