The owner of McDonald’s Restaurant in Brownstown donated $500 to the Jackson County History Center as part of the center’s efforts to raise the $15,000 to $20,000 needed to move a log cabin from Brownstown Elementary School to the center at 105 N. Sugar St. in Brownstown.
A fundraiser was held from 5 to 8 p.m. March 21 at the restaurant at 321 N. Main St. During that time, 20 percent of the proceeds were given to the center for the log cabin project.
History center members were on hand to answer questions about the center and the plans to move the cabin to the center’s Pioneer Village sometime this summer.
