The most recent time the Medora girls basketball team had played a game was Nov. 23. So in Thursday’s home game with Rock Creek Academy, it showed.

With a little more than six minutes left in the third quarter, the visiting Lions led 25-13.

Three minutes later, the host Hornets went on a 14-0 run to take a 27-25 lead. Rock Creek tied the game at 27, but Medora scored seven of the next 11 points to take the lead for good and hold on for a 44-39 win, the Hornets’ first of the season.
