BROWNSTOWN
A 33-year-old Jackson County man faces nine counts of forgery in connection with an investigation into counterfeit bills showing up at local businesses in recent months.
Police didn’t have to search much to find Phillip R. Meade of Medora because until Tuesday he was being held in the Blount County Jail in Maryville, Tenn. Meade was returned to Jackson County and booked into the jail in Brownstown at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
“I filed nine counts of forgery against him today,” Seymour Detective C.J. Foster said of Meade, who was wanted here on a Jackson Circuit Court warrant charging failure to appear for a separate case.
