Medora man dies after ATV crash

A 39-year-old Jackson County man was found dead Saturday morning about 36 hours after he left home on a wild boar hunting trip.

Jay D. Fosbrink of Medora apparently died of positional asphyxiation, according to the results of an autopsy conducted by pathologist Wes Whitler on Sunday at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour, Coroner Roger Wheeler said.

Positional asphyxiation occurs when a person’s body position prevents one from breathing, causing the person to suffocate, Wheeler said.
