Each time Medora track and field coach Kristi Gilbert presented a ribbon to one of her joyous team members on Thursday, a loud roar erupted from the Hornets.
Medora held a numbers advantage over host Crothersville, which had several athletes competing in softball and baseball games, and Rock Creek Academy. The Medora boys scored 75 points, Crothersville had 40 and Rock Creek had 18, while the Medora girls scored 68 points, Crothersville 52 and Rock Creek 24.
“The biggest highlight tonight was that both teams won,” Gilbert said. “That was the first time since I’ve been here that both of them have won a team meet. This is only my second year, but I know they haven’t won one in a long time. We just had a lot of runners in everything.”
