MEDORA

Corey Hansen began playing basketball in sixth grade when he moved to Medora, and he said that easily became his favorite sport.

“I like playing basketball because it’s a small school, you get to play and you get to know the kids,” he said. “I’ve been playing with Michael Powell since sixth grade, and that’s real fun. (Teammates) are cool people, and it’s great fun.”

During his high school basketball career, Hansen changed positions.

“I was short in the beginning, and I was a point guard my freshman and sophomore years,” he said. “Then I just started growing; and now, I play a forward.

“At first, when I was shorter, I didn’t like being underneath. I liked handling the ball. But now, I like playing underneath so I can rebound and stuff.”

Hansen said he tries to help the team any way he can.
