Sports have given Mariah Campbell many challenges and kept her busy, and that’s why she decided to be an athlete throughout her high school career at Medora.
“I just like the challenge. I like to be busy, and sports have always been fun to me to play,” she said. “I’ve just loved all of the sports.”
Campbell has played basketball and volleyball throughout her high school career. She began playing basketball in the biddy ball program and began competing in volleyball and track and field in middle school.
Her responsibilities this winter in basketball are to bring the ball up the floor and set up the offense.
“I try to keep the ball moving and set up the plays,” Campbell said. “I need to make good passes.”
Campbell said she likes playing a guard position alongside her cousin, Ashley Lambert.
“When me and her work together, it’s definitely a good ballgame,” Campbell said. “When we click and get it set up and do what we’re supposed to do, it’s a ballgame.”
The team likes to run on fast breaks, Campbell said.
