The Monroe Lake naturalist will present several nature programs for a variety of age groups at the Bedford Public Library in October.
At “Turkey Talk” on Oct. 11, naturalist Jill Vance will discuss the natural history and story of the wild turkey. “Colors of Fall” on Oct. 18 will explore the science behind autumn leaf colors. Both programs are at 6 p.m. and are
recommended for adults and teenagers.
Two preschool programs will be offered. “What Is a Raptor?” on Oct. 3 will introduce children to birds of prey using real feathers and feet. “Stories in the Stars” on Oct. 24 is about constellations and includes a simple craft. Both programs are at 10 a.m.
School-age children can drop by the children’s department anytime between 3:30 and 5 p.m. Oct. 17-18 for Earth Science Week activities.
