Ten people filed declarations of candidacy with the Jackson County Clerk’s office between Monday and Friday of last week.
Two of those filings set up a race at the township level for the May 6 primary. Republicans Hope Warren Sitterding and Larry Raymer filed for seats on the three-member Brownstown Township Board. They joined two other Republicans seeking those seats through earlier
filings: Jack R. Gillespie and Beverly Hanner Dewitt.
None of the new filings involved countywide seats. The filing period ends at noon Feb. 7.
