Start of school project nears

A major construction project to add four new early learning classrooms and renovate existing space is set to begin at Emerson Elementary School.

Seymour Community Schools board of trustees recently awarded the project to T & G Construction Inc. of Bedford. The company will build the addition plus a new interior wall near the library, enclose stairwells and install new temperature controls, lighting and door locks for $1.5 million.

That work is expected to start sometime between now and the end of the school year in late May.
