New detention center leader sees smooth transition

The newest executive director of the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center plans to continue what his former boss has put in place over the past two years.

“We’re looking for a real smooth transition,” said Steve Redicker, who will take over operations of the 28-bed center from John Long on Jan. 1.

Long recently resigned to become a police officer with the Brownstown Police Department for the second time in his law enforcement career.
