New troopers begin to patrol Jackson County

Members of the 72nd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy received their patrol cars and began solo patrols on Monday.

Trooper Robert Hutson, who has been assigned to Jackson County, was among the 47 new troopers who received a car.

Hutson, a Columbus native, graduated from Columbus North High School in 2006. He has attended American Military University and is an MP in the Army National Guard, where he served in an active duty capacity from 2006 until early 2012. That included a tour of duty in Iraq from February to December 2011.
